Reunion Info from Bougie Criswell21 May, 2004Look at the time! Yeah, it's almost Reunion Time again. My contact at the Nassau Motel would like you to make your reservations by the First of July (if possible) ... So get up off the couch, put down the remote, and give the ladies a call; They are expecting "Tailhook" Army-style. We have beautiful ocean-front accomodations with mini-fridges (not tin-roofed twelve-man hootches, but almost as big). When I arrived at Chu Lai, I knew the Good Lord was smiling on me: He said, "You're going to war - but you don't have to give up surfing, except when you're flying." It has taken me a long time to realize I have to watch what I wish for - I am real careful now days! My wish now is for YOU ALL to come and enjoy my beach, which is right in front of my company area. The VFW Club is within walking distance, just past the Police Station and Court House .... No rockets at all! There are places within an hour's drive, such as Dover Air Transport Museum and Dover Downs Slots. Rehoboth Outlet Mall shopping is twenty minutes away (no sales tax). I just plan to hang out at the beach and give surfing lessons, and tell war stories - all true of course. We will have a secure hospitality room for all your memorabilia. I'll set up a static display on on my Vietnam Surfboard "Pin Tail Weber Mini Feather" - She was a sweet board. We will have "Purple Jesus" around the bonfire on the beach; Lightning LeCates can whip us up a batch from memory! LZ Bougie (Wild Oak Drive) is approximately ten miles from the Motel, and there will be a constan shuttle from my house to the Motel. Dan Shoplock will bring hats and T-shirts, so you can take home a memory and wear it proudly. If you can pry it out of him, Dan might even tell you a war story! We appreciate all the Regulars who show up at all the Reunions, because you people really make it like a Family. But right now I want to reach out to the guys who have never (yet) been to one of these thing....Please Come, even if you can only be there for one day - Don't miss the chance to see old buddies from a far away time and place.
